1. Description of the Best Practice "Philoxenia" presented by EMLOC (Greece)

Brief description:

Implementation from April 2009 to March 2012 of a common operational mechanism (COM) that permitted the assistance at a financial, technical (tutoring) and cultural level of 90 persons installed in 5 Mediterranean rural target zones and who created their own micro-activities that will reinforce the dynamics of the local economy, attenuate the demographic erosion and will permit them to maintain their identity. This Best Practice was also implemented in Cyprus and Slovenia.

2. Description of the Best Practice "Development and Strengthening of Rural Entrepreneurship" presented by ANETEL (Cyprus)

Brief description:

The Best Practice will strengthen the businesses of the area, will examine the possibilities of new technologies and innovative actions, will provide technical and advisory support to upgrade the business workforce and create new jobs. The project aims to exploit the opportunities presented today to the area of intervention, such as increased demand for alternative tourism, cross-border cooperation, the use of local, high-quality and branded products, the rapid development of information society and new technologies and increasing training opportunities presented in the rural population

3. Description of the Best Practice "National portal site dedicated to the installation in the rural areas" presented by COLLECTIF VILLE CAMPAGNE (France)

Brief description:

www.installation-campagne.fr is the first national portal aggregating information on the reception of new populations in rural areas. It is intended both for those wishing to settle in the country, those who accompany them, and to all who are interested in these rural-urban migration dynamics.

4. Description of the Best Practice "SOHO-SOLO" presented by CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE ET D¥INDUSTRIE DU GERS-CCI Gers (France)

Brief description:

To promote the advantages of a rural territory in a geoportal,to help possible newcomers throughout their installation process (information on available accommodation and building land, local businesses and public services),to motivate and raise awareness to elected representatives of villages so that they implement welcoming practices for newcomers,to develop broadband internet access in rural villages,to organize and follow a club to gather and answer to "SOLOS" remarks and questions,to promote the SOHO SOLO programme towards tourists

5. Description of the Best Practice "ONE VILLAGE-ONE PRODUCT (OVOP)" presented by CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE ET D INDUSTRIE DU GERS-CCI Gers (France)

Brief description:

Selection in each partner region of three villages-candidates who have products or knowledge remarkable but untapped, unexploited. These villages will be accompanied by the animation team of CCI Gers and consultants responsible for communication and marketing to build a marketing mix to market products or service

6. Description of the Best Practice "Inflowence Integrated plan Locride: the vision of the future" presented by EUROKOM (Italy)

Brief description:

The Inflowence integrated development plan consists of three sections:
- A detailed map of resources (touristic, historical, environmental, economic) and activities (shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, industrial and handicraft enterprises, cultural enterprises etc.) existing in a pilot territory that includes 42 small and medium- sized municipalities. This area is characterized by a chaotic urban concentration along the coast with three middle-size towns that are the core of the economic life of the entire area. On the contrary, the other municipalities, located in the rural internal area, experience phenomena of economic backwardness and emigration.
- A description of participatory process activated in the territory, aiming to bring together governance actor to discuss local development issues The participation process was designed to define common strategies and realistic solutions to problems. During the participatory sessions, a strategy for future tourism- based development was drawn, with special attention to rural municipalities experiencing emigration and depopulation.
- A marketing plan for the promotion of the territory, its resources.

7. Description form PHILOXENIA – Slovenian example

 

Brief summary:

Slovenian case of PHILOXENIA best practice example was based on verybrief selection of all 18 entrepreneurs (via cooperation with Slovenian employment services) and targeted support to entrepreneurs, custom made to their needs. Best practice was also implementation of Business Analysis of supported entrepreneurs showing impacts of Philoxenia project.

8. Description form  MEDSTRATEGY - A herd of opportunities

 

Brief description:

1. The development of a "Pilot Operating Plan for the development of the Shire Community of Teruel" through participation process;
2. Implementation of a program for entrepreneurs called "A herd of opportunities" reimplantation oriented livestock farms sheep and / or goats in the villages of the region.
3. Implementation of a "job training workshop" with the Government of Aragon to the formation of 13 entrepreneurs in the start-up of farming and livestock management

9. Description form template SLO INO2020

 

Brief description:

Good practice INO2020 is based on cross-border project aiming at revival of business activities on the deprivileged areas. Business-supporting institutes joined together in order to ensure better supporting environment for SMEs, and encourage innovativeness of the area itself. Aim of the project was revival of business activities in the rural areas with innovation support, technology transfer and establishment of innovative thinking culture among local SMEs.
